You Deserve to be Safe

by | May 16, 2022 | Talks that Inspire

One emotional state we all feel but don’t often express is a degree of safety. If someone asks, “How are you?”, we don’t usually respond with “safe, or unsafe.” But, it’s crucial to our overall well being to feel a sense of safety. And, in these current times of pandemic, war, wildfires, etc., feeling safe can be a challenge.

Each of us though, can discern important facts about our true safe and secure identity. We are all God’s spiritual creation. God has given us the ability to determine what is real and what is not. The spiritual facts of God’s creation are often in stark contrast to what we perceive happening around us and the lies we tell ourselves about how to respond. Christ Jesus proved the understanding we have of what God’s creation can do when he healed disease and suffering. He also promised his followers that they could also heal through spiritual understanding. He said, “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32)

How amazing to fully grasp that created in His image we are the very definition of safe! God’s creation is from above and is spiritual, good and perfect. There is no uncertainty, no chance and no lack of safety in God’s creation. We are created by God’s Word, we are not material, but being from above, we are spiritual. As Jesus said, “That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” (John 3:6) It is our understanding of these spiritual facts that provides safety, protection and insulation from our false fears. These current times appear to be horrible; global fighting, the pandemic, nuclear bomb threats… the list could go for days. These ugly perils are unknown to God and conclusively will not be manifested in His children. Anything opposed to God’s goodness does not exist in the spiritual realm of God’s creation.

Remember: “God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.” (Genesis 1:31) and, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)

You deserve to feel safe, to be safe. In God, You Are safe.
