We are extending a warm, open invitation for all to join us for an uplifting and inspiring Christian Science lecture on May 27, 2023, at The Tahoe Beach Retreat in South Lake Tahoe. This event promises to be a unique opportunity to explore the transformative power of spiritual awareness and healing solutions to life’s challenges.

The lecture will feature two renowned speakers, Alexandre Fisher, C.S. and Melanie Wahlberg, C.S. Each of them will share their own unique insights and experiences on the topic of spirituality and its role in bringing healing to our lives.

The title of Alexandre Fisher’s presentation is “How Spiritual Perception Brings Healing.” Originally a litigation lawyer in France, Alexandre has now been a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science for many years. In his words, “I’m not a lawyer anymore, but I still work to help others get out of trouble, to get out of a sense of limitations, to find more freedom. But the way I see it, Christian Science is not just about feeling better or fixing problems. It’s about being willing to challenge one’s world view as entirely molecule based and soulless, to be open to see the world as spiritually based, and experience how this change in perspective brings inner peace and healing. It is about understanding more clearly our relationship with God, infinite good. It is about understanding Christ Jesus’ message in a non dogmatic way, bringing healing, harmony and freedom to our life.”

Melanie Wahlberg’s presentation is entitled “Giving Freely of Ourselves.” Melanie was a college math professor who has always enjoyed teaching. She says: “There was nothing better than witnessing a reluctant student realize that a previously mystifying concept was actually within reach to anyone.” When students came to her office for help with calculus, they often found themselves talking about the joy and excitement of growing spirituality. After just two years at the college, she resigned from her position and began accepting calls as a Christian Science practitioner. At our Summit Melanie will explore the idea of giving freely of ourselves as an expression of God’s love. She will share examples of how this principle has brought healing and transformation to people’s lives.

In addition to the presentations, there will also be a music performance by Andrew Brewis, a talented musician from London, England. Brewis is known for his uplifting and inspiring music that speaks to the heart and soul of listeners. His music has been described as a combination of traditional hymns and contemporary music, and it is sure to touch your heart and uplift your spirit. Eight of his compositions have been published in the new Christian Science Hymnal used in churches all over the world.  Andrew’s assessment of this achievement is that “it is as exciting as it is humbling”.

This enlightening and uplifting afternoon will take place at The Tahoe Beach Retreat, a beautiful venue located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe. The venue offers stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains, making it the perfect place to gather for a day of inspiration and renewal.
We hope that you will join us for this special event and be inspired by the transformative power of spiritual perception and the healing solutions it brings. We look forward to seeing you there!

Finding Strength in the Storm: How We Can Weather Severe Weather with Faith and Hope

We had a “big” winter here at Lake Tahoe. Roofs collapsed under the weight of months of snowfall. There were daily traffic accidents and road delays because of the relentless ice and snow. Severe weather events like this extreme winter, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and wildfires can be frightening and devastating. In the face of such natural disasters, it can be helpful to turn to Christian Science principles for comfort and guidance. These principles can help us understand that God’s love and protection are always with us, even in the midst of challenging circumstances.

Answering Violence with Love

Answering Violence with Love

Gun violence in America and the war in Ukraine are both current tragedies that affect countless individuals and families. It is important to approach these issues with love and compassion, and we can do that with guidance from the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy and The Bible.

Growing Community

In a post Covid world many of us have become more introverted and less social. It is understandable but it is difficult to support each other and come together in times of need when we live in a guarded emotional state. We can turn to the teachings of Christian Science for help and guidance in connecting and crowing as a community.
