Patricia Cohan Woodard, C.S. – Dallas, TX, USA C.S. and a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship

Patricia discovered Christian Science as an adolescent and soon thereafter experienced the complete healing of a broken arm through Christian Science treatment, to the amazement of her mother, a Registered Nurse.

After college and a move to New York City, Patricia realized that she really wanted to teach and went on to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching at Manhattanville College. Later, as a young mother, she took courses to become a teacher naturalist at an Audubon Center.

After numerous moves, and while a mother of two children, Patricia began working as a Christian Science Practitioner and has pursued a lifelong career of learning about God, sharing Truth, and witnessing God’s love for mankind.

She loves the “ah ha” moments that come to us, sometimes when we least expect it. Whether it’s been with her two little boys lifting a rock and finding a whole unexplored world of critters, or teaching Sunday School students learning more about God and who God has made them to be. “Ah ha” moments aren’t limited to children, and when they’re spiritually based they can lead to dramatic life changes. And that’s what’s happening when an individual is healed or a life is reformed through Christian Science.

Patricia has lived in six states in the U.S. and twice in São Paulo, Brazil, where she became fluent in Portuguese. Each new culture and environment has taught her more about God, universal Love, and how God’s goodness is reflected by all people. And these new views have opened up wonderful opportunities for her to interact with people from a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds, faiths, and age groups.

In Brazil, Patricia helped start up an award winning social program that taught mothers living in a favela (slum) how to make beautiful handmade quilts for resale, the income from which put shoes on their childrens’ feet and gave those women a new sense of self-worth.

Underlying all of her experiences, however, is the desire to bring healing to mankind, to show each individual their God-given freedom, their real heritage, their right to happiness and health, and their inherent ability to feel God’s love.
Today, Patricia resides in Dallas, Texas (when she’s not traveling) where she is active in Prison Ministry along with her healing practice.

Mark McCurties, C.S. – Ann Arbor, Michigan C.S. and a member of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship

Mark has had a deep love for the Bible ever since he was a little boy. He was inspired when he read about men and women in the Bible overcoming hatred, famine, war, physical disease, and other hardships and triumphs. It didn’t matter what the odds were, or what conditions they faced, individuals in the Bible seemed to flourish in adversity based on one common theme, their deep love for God.

Mark grew up in a Christian Science household where there was another book he loved to read daily: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures written by Mary Baker Eddy. The very purpose of her book is to help unlock and reveal the deeper divine meaning and inspiration of the Bible. Together these two books point to the practical healing and saving power of God and its present availability for all mankind. Mark knew that someday he wanted to share that healing message with the world.

As he grew into adulthood, experiences in the field of education as a summer camp director, outdoor educator, athletics coach, and resident counselor, all helped to develop his understanding and practice of Christian Science. While working with young people, Mark had multiple opportunities to witness God’s healing power. These examples proved to him that the healing power of the Christ is just as alive and relevant today as for the men and women of the Bible. In 2010, with a desire to focus solely on healing through prayer, Mark went into the full-time public practice of Christian Science.

Featuring Music By
Andrew Brewis, London, England

Music reaches beyond denominational borders; it can lift, heal and connect with people of all beliefs and none. I’d love this work to bless more people – and it’s never been more important than it is now to find ways to connect with and support our fellow children of God.

Becoming a writer and performer of hymns and inspirational Christian music is something that really “found me”, and now it’s part of who I am. The more I write, the more I discover how music can spiritually prod and poke us: stirring, awakening and ultimately healing. It brings me blessings every day, and I love few things more than being to share these melodies, harmonies and healing messages with anyone who’ll listen. Eight of my compositions have been published in a hymnal used in churches all over the world, which is as exciting as it is humbling.

I continue to share regular online concerts with a growing number of followers, these concerts have been a huge blessing for me and brought fresh inspiration to my songwriting – I’ve premiered more than 80 new compositions since we started. From the rush of positive feedback I’ve received, I know they touched many listeners’ hearts as well as all over the world too!

So now I’ve been recording a brand new double album of songs including Abide With Me, In The Secret Place, As A Child, The Father Is Calling, and 16 other tracks, plus my single This Is The Time To Pray. They’re almost all songs that I’ve written during the last 2 years in response to – and inspired by – their many challenging events.

It’s changed its name! While the working title for my third solo album was The Time To Pray, many of the songs have been influenced by my happiest spot. So, it’s now called Home. Welcome!

You can find out more about online performances, live performances/concerts and the new cd at www.andrewd.brewis.com and also my Spiritual Music Facebook page www.facebook.com/adbrewis
